Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Local Government Agency to engage a Principal Risk and Compliance Advisor (Information Systems). This position is in their busy Logan Central office for an initial contract until 20/06/2025 with possible extensions. 
  
About the Position
The Principal Risk and Compliance Advisor (Information Systems) is responsible for providing expert technical advice on system capabilities, mentoring team members, and developing solutions. The role involves maintaining a Risk Management and Compliance Framework, developing risk registers, and overseeing risk management practices. The role also includes expert reporting, leading with influence, and ensuring compliance with risk management principles.

Duties

  • Advising on system capabilities and restrictions.
  • Mentoring and training team members.
  • Develop and maintain risk management frameworks and registers.
  • Leading risk reviews and approvals.
  • Promote risk awareness and compliance.
  • Providing expert reporting and strategic advice.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements/Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in governance, risk, and/or compliance.
  • Knowledge of strategic and enterprise risk management frameworks
  • Proven experience providing technical risk advice at all levels.
  • Ability to establish and maintain risk frameworks 
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High-level communication skills.
  • Experience negotiating, advocating, and presenting information.
  • Ability to translate complex information into simple concepts.
  • Experience in building collaborative partnerships.
  • Advanced engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in delivering risk management education.
