About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a leading Resources Company to engage a Scrum Master. This 12-month initial contract (+ possible extension) will ideally be located in their busy Perth office; however, Brisbane is also considered.
About the Position
This role involves supporting the piloting of a vision system for autonomous trains. As a Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating Agile processes, coaching teams, and fostering collaboration across core teams in Perth, vendors in New South Wales, and additional partners. The position requires flexibility, pragmatism, and the ability to inspire engineers to embrace Agile practices in a practical environment.
Duties
- Facilitate Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Coach and guide teams on Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to refine and prioritize backlogs.
- Remove obstacles that hinder project progress and shield teams from distractions.
- Track progress, produce status reports, and address risks and dependencies.
- Foster continuous improvement and build Agile maturity within the team.
- Assist with Agile Release Train events, such as PI Planning.
Requirements/Skills
- Mandatory Scrum Master certification(s) and at least 5 years of experience in Agile delivery.
- Strong knowledge of SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate varying levels of Agile adoption and build team buy-in.
- Desirable qualifications in IT, Business, or related fields.
- Experience in IT within a global or multinational corporation is highly regarded.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to inspire and challenge engineers.
