Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage a APS4 Payroll Officer. This position is located in their busy Barton office for an initial 12 month contract.
About the Position
The APS4 Payroll Officer predominantly delivers payroll services by processing payroll transaction, providing advice and monitoring areas of risk.
Duties
- Day to day payroll processing
- Calculating entitlements for staff
- Interpreting and providing advice in line with the Enterprise Agreement and related legislation, policies and procedures
- Undertake general administrative duties associated with payroll services
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Participate as a constructive team member to deliver ongoing improvements, quality of service and professional practices and standards
- Obtain subject matter expertise through ongoing development and learning opportunities
- Contribute to and implement improved operational practices, procedures and guidelines
Requirements/Skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance to NV1
- Drug and Alcohol test may be required
- Minimum two (2) years payroll experience
- Demonstrated experience in corporate payroll system in a large government organisation
- Demonstrated experience in supporting workplace legislation including Fair Work Australia, Superannuation and Industry Agreements.
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to attain new skills in a short timeframe
