About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Industrial Relations Specialist. This position is located in their busy Parramatta office for an initial contract until 30 June 2025.
  
About the Position
The role is primarily responsible to manage the development, negotiation and implementation of industrial awards and conditions across the department.  It leads a specialist team to provide expert advice and support to leaders and managers on diverse and complex industrial relations issues.  You would be supporting the development and implementation of initiatives to support achieving industrial relations strategic objectives in alignment with organisational goals and legislative requirements.

Duties

  • Manage, coordinate, negotiate and resolve complex industrial relations issues through engagement and consultation with employers, employees, unions and other key stakeholders in a fair and timely manner
  • Support and lead where necessary, industrial relations outcomes, to gain agreement on the implementation of, industrial conditions of employment and employment policy, change management and other industrial matters
  • Monitor, analyse, develop awards and industrial instruments 
  • Provide expert analysis, advice and support for senior management, the Minister on complex and strategic industrial relations issues
  • Manage, lead and develop a team of industrial relations specialists and experts to ensure sound industrial practices and advice


Requirements/Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial relations regulatory frameworks with demonstrated skills and experience
  • Understanding of the public sector framework would be an advantage 
  • Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, employment law, human resources or a relevant discipline
