About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an APS6 Radio Frequency Technologist. This position is located in their busy Canberra office for an initial 12-month contract with possible extensions.

About the Position
The APS6 Radio Frequency Technologist will work across a variety of disciplines including RF hardware design, software configuration, systems testing, and engineering documentation. The role requires strong technical acumen, practical experience with RF communications systems, and a collaborative mindset to support knowledge-sharing within the team.

Duties

  • Design, integrate, test, and document engineering subsystems
  • Plan, manage, and execute test procedures using appropriate tools
  • Undertake fault-finding using electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analysers)
  • Produce detailed technical documentation and participate in design reviews
  • Support continuous improvement by refining engineering processes and procedures

Requirements/Skills

  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Positive Vetting security clearance
  • Experience with coaxial, optical, and signalling cabling
  • Strong skills in RF system design (DESN 4), fault resolution (RFEN 4), and testing (TEST 3)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with modelling, prototyping, and RF diagnostic tools
