About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Database Administrator. This position is located in their busy Brisbane CBD office for an initial contract until 17 December 2027.
  
About the Position
The role will support the technical upgrade/windows server migration of re-design of two initiatives.  You will be supporting both to ensure that there is a fully connected plan of action to deliver the agreed outcomes.

Duties

  • Develop, maintain and support bespoke applications built using major technologies Microsoft SQL Server Services (Database, Reporting, Integration and Analysis) including Reporting Services, TFS and .NET Framework, and have skills and experience with techniques of business intelligence and data warehouse management
  • Design Microsoft SQL databases, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services reports, Microsoft Analysis Services multi-dimensional cubes to analyse and present data for various departmental stakeholders, developing and managing database scripts to convert and fix data within operational database and managing and performing code reviews against coding standards and departmental requirements to ensure compliance
  •  Prioritises and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures, investigating causes, seeking resolution and escalating unresolved incidents. Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures
  • Develop and implement standards, guidelines, strategies and processes to ensure efficient maintenance and delivery of information technology that is aligned to departmental and whole of government business development, reporting and escalating issues in accordance with the issue management procedures of the program to analyse patterns and trends


Requirements/Skills

  • Availability to commence on 22 December 2025
  • Advanced technical abilities and demonstrated experience in the role of database administrator for complex, multi-tier applications in a large organisation enterprise environment
