About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an EL1 Cloud Solutions Architect. This position is located in their busy Canberra office for an initial 12 month contract.

Duties

• Experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer or Solution Architect, designing Azure solutions including DevOps pipelines, networking, and cloud-native patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Azure and security frameworks (ISM, OWASP, Essential Eight), with experience in complex environments.
• Ability to work independently, manage stakeholders, and translate business needs into clear technical designs.

Requirements/Skills
Essential Criteria

• Experience translating business requirements into Azure solution designs (HLD/DLD), with strong knowledge of Azure services, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps.
• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders (architecture, security, and operations) to secure design approval.
• Strong understanding of information security principles, including the Information Security Manual (ISM).

Desirable Criteria

• Exposure to a broad range of cloud technologies, including Azure AI/ML, data solutions, integration, APIs, and CI/CD.
• Ability to work independently in Agile environments with limited guidance.
