Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Senior Safety Officer. This position is located in their busy Parramatta office for an initial contract until 30/06/2025.
  
About the Position
The Senior Safety Officer provides high quality Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidance, support and advice with a whole-of-lifecycle approach to WHS applied to redevelopment projects across various project types.

Duties

• Lead the implementation of the WH&S management system
• WHS risk management, including hazard identification, risk assessment and controls
• Conducting WHS workshops
• Proactively monitor legislation and regulations and recommend appropriate improvements
• Conduct and/or facilitate regular audits 
• Support delivery teams in reporting of WHS incidents, hazards and near misses
• Establish and maintain sound relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Maintaining compliance with WH&S Act
• Maintaining a Quality Assurance approach by coordinating risk assessments, reviews, audits and investigations

Requirements/Skills

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent extensive WHS experience
• Current Construction industry white card induction
• Current NSW class C driver’s license
• Cert IV in Training and Education.
