About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Principal Data Engineer. This position is located in their busy Parramatta office for an initial contract until 30/06/2025.
  
About the Position
In this hands on role you will provide technical leadership to deliver expert advice and services in the design and development of data products and data-related services to support the achievement of business outcomes and strategic goals. The role will also drive development of data processing frameworks and data architectural approaches scaled to current and future business demands.

Duties

  • Partner with customers and stakeholders to design, build and maintain databases, ETL pipelines and management systems 
  • Provide end to end solutions
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of innovative data management system
  • Contribute to ongoing management of data management systems and solutions
  • Evaluate process improvements to deliver automation, optimise data delivery and re-design infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of latest industry trends and innovations
  • Monitor systems, identify risk and emerging issues and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and other customers and stakeholders

Requirements/Skills

  • Experience in RDBMS products such as Oracle or AWS
  • Experience in API frameworks (SQL, Python)
  • Understanding of data orchestration frameworks such as AirFlow
  • Knowledge of data warehousing technologies
  • Tertiary qualified professional in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience
