About the Position
We are seeking an experienced EL1 Assistant Director – Procurement and Contracts to lead a small team within the Procurement and Contracts Unit. This role involves providing strategic and operational procurement, grants, and contract management advice while ensuring alignment with government frameworks and agency priorities.
Duties
- Lead and manage a small procurement team to deliver outcomes
- Provide expert advice on procurement and grants in line with Commonwealth frameworks
- Oversee procurement strategies, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
- Support training initiatives and continuous improvement within the procurement function
- Manage procurement projects, vendor performance, and contract compliance
Requirements / Skills
- Proven experience in procurement, grants, and contract management
- Strong knowledge of Commonwealth procurement and grant frameworks
- Demonstrated leadership experience and stakeholder engagement capability
- High-level communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Procurement qualifications or equivalent experience (mandatory)
- Experience with TechOne (desirable)
