Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government organisation to engage a Senior Materials Engineer on an ASAP – 12-month contract based at Victoria Square, Adelaide SA.
About the Position
The role provides specialist materials engineering expertise across water and wastewater infrastructure, supporting investigation, design, auditing and advisory activities to ensure safe and sustainable outcomes.
Duties
- Provide specialist investigation, design and technical auditing services for materials engineering projects
- Act as a subject matter expert in materials engineering including corrosion prevention
- Lead Safety in Design activities within the materials and cathodic protection discipline
- Ensure engineering designs align with technical standards and safety requirements
- Conduct site audits and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
- Assess suitability of new and emerging materials technologies
Requirements/Skills
- Tertiary qualification in Materials, Mechanical, Civil and Structural, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
- Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia
- Minimum 10 years professional engineering experience
- Water industry experience
- Specialist expertise in steel and concrete corrosion
- Experience utilising and auditing engineering and infrastructure standards
- Owner’s engineer experience
- Ability to meet mandatory checks including Police Check and Traffic Check
