Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government organisation to engage a Digital Content Writer for a 6 month contract based in Canberra ACT.
About the Position
The Digital Content Writer will develop, edit and maintain clear, accessible and user-focused digital content. The role supports the delivery of high-quality web content and communication materials aligned with accessibility and content design standards.
Duties
- Develop, edit and maintain website content using content design best practice
- Structure and format web content using research, data and user insights
- Translate legislation, policies and technical concepts into plain language content
- Develop guidance materials and educational resources to support user understanding
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to maintain accurate content
- Develop communication products that improve clarity and accessibility
- Support communication and engagement initiatives as required
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements/Skills
- Strong written communication and editing skills
- Experience translating complex technical, legislative or business information into plain language
- Demonstrated experience writing, editing and maintaining user-focused website content
- Experience applying the Australian Government Style Manual and digital content best practice
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
- Understanding of digital content principles including plain language, SEO and analytics
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Satisfactory Police Check required
- Two professional reference checks required
