Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a leading higher education organisation to recruit a HR Partner (Identified) for a Full-time fixed term contract based in Sydney, NSW. This opportunity runs from ASAP to November 2027 and supports strategic people initiatives focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation

About the Position
The HR Partner (Identified) provides comprehensive HR advice, develops tailored people solutions, supports policy alignment, and delivers strategic workforce initiatives. The role partners with stakeholders to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation while ensuring compliance and effective people management practices.

Duties

  • Provide HR advice informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, community and structural protocols.
  • Drive the development and alignment of HR policies and practices supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation.
  • Lead HR projects and initiatives using best-practice systems and approaches.
  • Design people strategies that support diversity, inclusion and professional development.
  • Lead governance and risk management activities in line with employment and legal requirements.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support HR service delivery and strategic decision-making.
  • Engage with stakeholders, senior leaders and cross-functional teams to support collaborative initiatives.
  • Support reporting, compliance activities and adherence to organisational policies.
  • Monitor budgets and contribute to budget reviews focused on workforce representation outcomes.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice across multiple work areas.
  • Support workplace health and safety activities and risk management processes.
  • Promote and support implementation of Indigenous workforce initiatives and related projects.

Requirements/Skills

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification is a genuine occupational requirement.
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
  • Proven experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • Proven experience interpreting and applying employment frameworks, legislation and regulations.
  • Proven experience in operational human resources.
  • Proven knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated consulting, project management, planning and organisational skills.
