About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency seeking 2 x APS6 Training Specialist professionals for a contract from 13/10/2026 – 30/06/2027 contract based in Melbourne VIC or Canberra ACT.
About the Position
The APS6 Training Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering training programs, educational resources and capability development initiatives. The role supports learning outcomes through engaging training delivery, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement activities.
Candidates can reside in Melbourne or Canberra for this role.
Duties
- Develop, review and maintain training materials, educational resources and learning content
- Plan and coordinate training programs and learning activities
- Deliver instructor-led training sessions, workshops, briefings and information sessions
- Facilitate virtual and face-to-face learning activities
- Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, communications and attendance management
- Assess participant understanding and adapt training delivery approaches
- Gather, analyse and report on participant feedback and training outcomes
- Monitor training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement initiatives
- Work with subject matter experts to communicate policy, process and system changes
- Deliver professional communications aligned to Australian Government standards
- Report on training participation, learner engagement and capability outcomes
Requirements/Skills
- Demonstrated experience facilitating instructor-led training, workshops or capability programs
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience delivering learning in virtual and face-to-face environments
- Ability to explain complex policy, legislative, business process or system information
- Experience evaluating training effectiveness and identifying improvement opportunities
- Strong organisational skills and ability to coordinate multiple training activities
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and operational teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Tertiary qualifications in Training and Workplace Assessment or related field (desirable)
- Prior experience delivering training to high-profile audiences (desirable)
- Experience developing education material related to regulatory reform and ICT systems (desirable)
- Australian Citizenship required
- Must hold a minimum Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance
- Ability to provide two professional reference checks
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check Certificate required
