About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Assistant Project Officer. This position is located in their busy Parramatta office for an initial 3 month contract.
  
About the Position
The Assistant Project Officer will support fire safety maintenance across a large residential housing portfolio, conducting on-site and desktop compliance inspections to ensure fire safety systems and maintenance activities meet relevant standards and contractual requirements. The role will involve documenting findings, identifying non-compliance, preparing reports and working with internal teams and contractors to support timely corrective actions.

This is a 3-month part-time contract, working 7 hours per day on an alternating schedule of 4 days (28 hours) in Week 1 and 3 days (21 hours) in Week 2.

Duties

• Conduct fire safety compliance inspections
• Complete on-site and desktop inspections
• Document findings and non-compliance issues
• Prepare detailed inspection and compliance reports
• Liaise with contractors and internal teams

Requirements/Skills

• Knowledge of AS 1851
• Building maintenance or construction experience
• Experience conducting compliance inspections
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence
• Strong reporting and attention-to-detail skills
