Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage Recruitment Advisors. This position is located in their busy Canberra ACT office for an initial 12-month contract.


THE RECRUITMENT ADVISOR – ONBOARDING TEAM

About the Position
The Recruitment Advisor, Onboarding supports the Onboarding team to manage the engagement of employees within the Agency. The role sits within the Recruitment Section of the People Branch and works collaboratively with teams across the Section and Branch.
The Recruitment Advisor supports the Recruitment team and broader agency in the administration of matters related to the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of and internal movements processes.


Duties
Under general direction and backed by excellent customer service:

  • Be accountable for the completion of allocated tasks, review of work and development of less experienced employees.
  • Maintain functional understanding of relevant systems, including Aurion, ServiceNow and Fit2Work.
  • Support the Recruitment section with project activities to meet Agency objectives.
  • Maintain a good understanding of relevant legislation, policies, guidelines and frameworks and identify upcoming changes that may impact the team.
  • Proactively identify potential problems or issues that may impact on their own and team’s work outcomes and appropriately raise them to senior team members.
  • Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities during an Electoral Event:

  • Provide assistance to election polling places to ensure electoral recruitment requirements are met.
  • Working in conjunction with the broader Recruitment section, to ensure a streamlined approach to recruitment of event surge staff through the delivery of electoral event.


THE RECRUITMENT ADVISOR – SURGE RECRUITMENT TEAM

About the Position
The Recruitment Advisor supports the Recruitment team and broader agency in the administration of matters related to the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of and internal movements processes.
The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex while using functional expertise within the area of public sector recruitment.


Duties
Key position responsibilities:

  • Process and provide advice on onboarding and internal movement requests, including submitting selection process outcomes.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks on recruitment requests
  • Deliver high quality, timely and client focused advice.
  • Contribute to maintenance of records and employee files.
  • Contribute to election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework.
  • Updating standard operating procedures or guidance to communicate process, system and/or legislative changes, as required.

Additional responsibilities during an Electoral Event:

  • Request volumes for recruitment and onboarding requests and matters, along with the urgency to resolve issues, will increase significantly prior to and during electoral events.

Requirements/Skills

  • Working knowledge of recruitment policies, procedures and practices and experience.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify potential problems or issues and appropriately raise them to senior team members.
  • Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters.
  • Ability to achieve quality results within timeframes with close attention to detail and a commitment to ongoing improvements.
  • Strong commitment to customer service with experience in human resources, administration or recruitment to provide accurate and professional support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment while working under pressure.
  • Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters. 


Additional Mandatory Requirements

  • Only candidates with Australian Citizenship will be eligible for this position.
  • A minimum of BASELINE Security Clearance is required for this position.
