Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an EL1 Assistant Director. This position can be located across Australia for an initial contract until 08.12.205 /12 month contract.
About the Position

Duties
The successful candidate will undertake the following key duties:
- Supervise a small team, supporting learning, skills development and performance.
- Manage, mentor and develop a small team, including providing direction, human resources, conflict resolution, coaching, workload.
- Develop and implement an Indigenous Compliance Strategy and a Remote area Compliance Strategy.
- Provide advice and support to manage and guide compliance operations in aboriginal communities.
- Contribute to high quality end-to-end compliance monitoring and investigations work into disability service providers and workers
- Work Collaboratively and actively participate in the development and dissemination of policies, guidelines, resources, and procedures for the conduct of the team’s activities.
- Lead, plan and coordinate the implementation of legislative and regulatory reforms
- Support compliance promotion and education campaigns to inform and educate department providers, participants and the public.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to others
Requirements/Skills
- A positive, contemporary attitude to people with disability and to develop excellent working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across Indigenous communities.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities required.
- An understanding of contemporary regulatory practices and approaches.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve quality outcomes.
- An understanding of the Department Quality, Safeguarding, Framework and the Act.
- Experience in or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory Government context.
