About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Senior Infrastructure Accountant. This position is located in their busy Adelaide SA office for an initial 6-month contract.
  
About the Position
Assist with all aspects of capital accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, as well as capital performance and efficiency measures and reporting in order to support Sustainable Infrastructure(SI) in managing the programs of work within the approved budget.

Duties

  • Capital Plan Management: Develop and manage budgets with Asset Planners and portfolio managers. Ensure alignment and accuracy.
  • Budget Support: Manage asset program budgets, forecast risks, and opportunities. Capture adjustments in month-end reporting.
  • Financial Data Ownership: Ensure accurate assignment and reporting of government values.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Assist in preparing the Key Investment Report and collaborate on budget and forecast management.
  • Forecast Analysis: Conduct detailed monthly forecasts and risk analysis. Review projected costs.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance financial management processes and business case formation.
  • Knowledge Enhancement: Help business units understand costs through variance reporting. Provide insights during monthly reviews.
  • Safety Focus: Model government values, ensure WHS compliance, and promote a safe work environment.

Requirements/Skills

  •  CA or CPA qualified
  • Experience in capital work program including financial, schedule, and pipeline information
  • Significant project accounting experience
  • Extensive infrastructure assets knowledge
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated successful experience in business partnering and building strong relationships to drive outcomes
  • Demonstrated competency in analytical tools (eg Power BI)
