About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an APS6 Clinical Care Coordinator. This position is located in their busy Townsville office for an initial 12-month contract, with possible extensions available.

About the Position
The APS6 Clinical Care Coordinator will work within a division of the Federal Government, providing short-term, goal-oriented, clinical case management intervention to clients with unmet health and psychosocial needs. The role focuses on promoting client engagement with mental health care, identifying appropriate supports, reducing barriers to access, and addressing factors that impact mental health.

Duties

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-informed clinical services including risk management, brief intervention, care coordination, and referral.
  • Maintain confidential client files, including session progress notes, care plans, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with various government departments and community-based mental health and welfare agencies.
  • Work systemically with stakeholders to influence a recovery approach to service delivery within a stepped care model.
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities and maintain professional registration.
  • Adhere to relevant legislation, ethical guidelines, and policies.
  • Engage in other clinical tasks as directed, including group treatment facilitation, community development, and program evaluation.

Requirements/Skills

  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children check.
  • Qualifications as a registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, Social Worker with AASW membership, or a Masters-level counselling qualification with PACFA or ACA registration.
  • Proven experience in case management and mental health care.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
