About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Investigator. This position is located in their busy Parramatta office for an initial contract until 21/12/2025 with possibility for extension. 
  
About the Position
This Investigator position will involve conducting thorough investigations into complex and sensitive cases, including allegations of non-compliance, serious incidents, and child protection concerns within the early childhood education services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing these investigations from start to finish, working closely with a variety of stakeholders including law enforcement and other regulatory bodies.

The role will require an understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to make informed decisions on appropriate actions based on investigative findings. It will also involve producing detailed reports, collaborating with other agencies, and sometimes traveling across NSW to address urgent cases.

Duties

  • Investigate serious incidents, non-compliance matters, and complaints, ensuring a high standard of regulatory oversight.
  • Work closely with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Recommend appropriate regulatory actions and sanctions based on investigation findings.
  • Take part in implementing these actions and sanctions. 
  • Prepare detailed, evidence-based reports for decision-making purposes.
  • Manage sensitive relationships with service providers, educators, and families during investigations.

Requirements/Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in investigations, particularly within a regulatory, law enforcement, or child protection environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence to manage sensitive cases and interactions with distressed stakeholders.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and cleared Police Check.
  • Willingness to travel across NSW, depending on the urgency of cases.
  • Previous experience in policing would be advantageous
