About the Company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage a Data Engineer / Data Warehouse – ETL Developer. This position is located in their Sydney or Canberra office for an initial 12-month contract, with possible extensions available.
About the Position
The Data Engineer will be responsible for managing, transforming, and operationalising data to support business needs. This role involves developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data ingestion into Enterprise Data Platforms, and automating data workflows using contemporary tools and techniques.
Duties
- Develop and maintain data engineering solutions using SQL and Python.
- Build and document standardised ETL processes for data transformation and integration.
- Ensure data quality through validation, remediation, and best practices.
- Develop technical documentation and track work using Confluence and JIRA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data pipelines and integration.
Requirements/Skills
- Must hold a TSPV Security Clearance (Australian Citizens only).
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and ETL best practices.
- Experience with data integration, transformation, and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with containerisation and platform engineering (highly desirable).
- Experience working with OLAP, RDBMS, and document stores.
- Ability to design and build APIs for seamless system integration.
