Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage a Product Manager and Product Owner. These positions are located in their busy Canberra office for an initial 12 month month contract + exensions.
  
About the Position – Product Manager
The role would see you accountable for maximising the value delivered by the Agile Release Trains under the Change Program at the department.  You would lead the product management function of the Change Program by working closely with Product Owners and business teams to provide advice, support and direction. 

Duties

• Assist in leading Product Owners and their respective multi-disciplinary teams to manage scope of works for the Change Program
• Create, iterate and maintain an outcome-oriented product roadmap, informed by customer insights and feedback
• Drive product engagement, including consultation with Change Program stakeholders to define current and future product enhancements 
• Provide leadership to Product Owners by communicating product visions, Change Program priorities and clear advice to navigate complex issues

About the Position – Product Owner
You would be accountable for maximising the value of the product resulting from the work of their colleagues in a scrum team by ensuring the team’s backlog of work is aligned with customer and stakeholder needs.  You would work with Transformation Office Product Management and Business staff and other scrum team members.

Duties

• Connecting with the customer participants; understanding and articulating customer and stakeholder needs and expectations
• Gaining and applying feedback; arranging for obtaining user and stakeholder feedback while sharing feedback with the Agile Release Train
• Educating and influencing business area staff about what’s desirable, viable and feasible
• Establish and maintain a product roadmap to guide development
• Participate in the department’s ceremonies and events and take a lead role in facilitating discussions in planning events
