About the Company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government client to engage an EL1 Physical Security Practitioner. This position is located in their busy Canberra office for an initial 12-month non-ongoing contract with possible extensions available.
About the Position
The EL1 Physical Security Practitioner is a key leadership role within the Business Operations Support Branch, responsible for advising on and delivering the Physical Security work program. This position will involve managing physical security risks, overseeing security measures, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for personnel, contractors, and official resources. The role requires significant stakeholder engagement, project management, and strategic planning.
Duties
- Identify and manage physical security risks
- Provide advice on protective security and security risk management
- Coordinate and conduct security reviews
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
- Manage physical security measures and access controls
- Engage with key stakeholders, including law enforcement and security industry specialists
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements/Skills
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
- NV1 or higher security clearance (mandatory)
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Security field or equivalent experience
- Experience in physical security management within a government or high-security environment
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
