About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an APS6 Team Leader.  This position is located in their busy Darwin office for an initial 2 to 3 month contract.
  
About the Position
The Team Leader and Office Manager will be responsible for managing a small team and establish best working practices for the office.  You would ensure efficient day-to-day operations and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders.  The role would be reporting to the Property and Security Division and a background in property or facility management would be an advantage.

Duties

  •  Ensure the smooth running of a small team
  • Preparing and finalising business proposals, executive minutes, requests for quote, evaluations, contracts, and other corporate documents, workflow through central mailboxes, portals, and other systems, reconciling expenditure against contract pricing, creating purchase orders, and updating record-keeping databases
  • Liaise, negotiate, and build productive working relationships with external agencies, service providers, suppliers, contractors, and building management representatives and deliver in-house training on security procedures to foster a positive risk culture
  • Capacity of taking a leadership role in the event of service disruptions or emergency situations. Able to deliver relevant training, set up and coordinate special events, and ability to support diverse requests in relation to facilities, WHS, and risk management policies and procedures


Requirements/Skills

  • Ability to acquire and maintain a general working knowledge of the Tribunal’s functions, policies and procedures and apply this knowledge in undertaking case-related functions
  • Strong knowledge of property, facility, risk, and asset management best practices, as informed by government legislation and guidelines
  •  Available to work on-site daily to address duties effectively
  •  Capacity to work out of hours sometimes to manage urgent building issues
