About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Project Manager – Procurement Systems. This position is located in their busy Brisbane CBD office for an initial contract until March 2026.
  
About the Position
The position is responsible for various key aspects of the project, including process improvement, digital translation, systems implementation and delivery, risk management, change management (people, process, platforms), communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management. The role offers an exciting opportunity for the Project Manager – Procurement Systems to create and imbed valuable change across the department, through the successful development and implementation of the department’s procurement systems. 

Duties

• Develop and execute a suitable project plan, that includes, but isn’t limited to, a detailed delivery schedule for the design and implementation of the department’s Procurement Systems, ensuring milestones are delivered to the agreed project timeline
• Suitably manage the procurement system implementation project, balancing time, cost, and quality to achieve an optimal outcome
• Manage the successful migration of data and processes to a fit-for-purpose procurement system, ensuring a smooth transition to the platform and mitigation of data loss or degradation
• Facilitate and lead solution and ideation workshops with subject matter experts, stakeholders and vendors to suitably design (configure), standardise and optimise procurement processes, systems and functionality
• Proactively manage risk and issue identification, mitigation, and resolution relevant to the procurement systems implementation to ensure project and implementation success, whilst minimising project disruptions.

Requirements/Skills

• Agile project management certification, project management professional qualifications or similar 
• Proficiency in project management methodologies, including agile project management methodology to ensure the successful system implementation project and sprints delivery 
• Experience in risk management, including the identification and mitigation of issues and project risks, including those associated with procurement systems implementation to ensure project success
