Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Financial Analyst. This position is located in their busy Sydney, NSW office for an initial contract from ASAP – 30/01/2026.
  
About the Position
The Financial Analyst role is a contract opportunity within a large NSW state government department, sitting in a central Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) team. This team supports financial planning and decision making across a portfolio of over 20 government agencies. The position is critical during a key planning period and will focus on budgeting, forecasting, and delivering financial insights that support agency wide outcomes.

Duties

• Review 10 year agency/department budget submissions
• Analyse full year financial forecasts for the current year
• Validate additional budget requests in systems such as TM1
• Provide financial insights and reporting to internal stakeholders
• Reconcile complex financial data across systems including SAP & TM1

Requirements/Skills

• Proven experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) roles
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial accounting
• Proficiency in SAP and TM1 (highly desirable)
• Exposure to Prime and IBM Analytics is an advantage
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
