Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an AO6 Senior Communications Advisor. This position is located in their busy Buderim, QLD office for an initial 24-month contract.

  
About the Position
The Senior Communications Advisor will lead strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives for transformative transport infrastructure projects across Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. This role is ideal for a creative and strategic communicator ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced government environment.

Duties

• Develop and manage strategic communication plans and campaigns
• Collaborate with project teams to craft community-focused messaging
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
• Create engaging content including media releases, newsletters, and social media updates
• Advise senior leaders on communication strategies and best practices
• Identify and mitigate communication challenges proactively

Requirements/Skills

• Experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or public relations (preferably in government or infrastructure)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to engage communities and manage sensitive messaging
• Experience working with government departments
• Tertiary qualification in Communications, PR, or related field (IAP2 Certification desirable)
• Proactive, solution-focused mindset
