Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Entry Level Customer Service Role – Payroll Officer. We receive a continuous stream of similar roles with this client and as such this advert will also act as a talent pool.
About the Position
The role is best suited to candidates with previous experience in frontline customer service, contact centre and payroll, in a fast paced customer service role, with high volumes.
Duties
- Payroll Processing: Assist with processing timesheets, salary, and contract details for employees, ensuring everything is accurate and on time.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter payroll data into our system, including timesheet coding and leave applications.
- Problem-Solving: Handle any discrepancies in payroll data and work quickly to resolve issues.
- Communication: Work closely with both internal teams and external employees to ensure smooth payroll processing and respond to any queries.
- Teamwork: Be an active member of our friendly team, contributing to the achievement of daily targets and deadlines.
Requirements/Skills
- Payroll Experience: CHRIS21 and Payroll experience is desirable
- Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required.
- Data Entry: Experience helpful but not required.
- Must have a valid police check
- Attention to Detail: You’re the type of person who notices the little things and ensures everything is accurate.
- Customer Service Skills: Experience in a fast-paced customer service role (like retail, hospitality, or fast food) where you’ve learned how to manage multiple tasks and keep a positive attitude.
- Team Player: You enjoy working with others and can contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Communication Skills: You’re confident speaking and writing clearly, whether it’s with team members or clients.
- Adaptability: You can handle changes and challenges, and you’re excited to learn new things, like payroll systems and processes.
