Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Nutritionist (Project Officer). This position is located in their busy St Leonards office for an initial 6-month contract

  
About the Position
The role is responsible for delivering the Healthy Food Information Service (HFIS) to support state-wide implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy and Healthy Food and Drink in NSW Health Facilities for Staff and Visitors Framework.


Duties

  • Provide menu check assessments to schools, reviewing canteen menus for alignment with the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy.
  • Offer clear advice and support to canteen operators to improve compliance.
  • Manage incoming phone and email enquiries related to healthy canteens and health facility frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate service records and contribute to monitoring, reporting, and continuous quality improvement of HFIS service delivery.

Requirements/Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering health promotion programs, preferably in childhood settings or nutrition-related programs.
  • Sound knowledge of obesity, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion issues related to children and young people.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to prepare reports and submissions, including data reporting.
  • Flexible and collaborative approach to working across program areas.
