Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage APS6 and EL1 Senior Investigators. These positions are located in their busy Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne offices for an initial 12-month contract.
  
About the Position
These roles involve conducting complex and sensitive investigations in accordance with the department’s processes and Australian Government Investigation Standards.

As an EL1 Investigator, you would be leading a team responsible for delivering the department’s investigations and provide for overall senior management reporting, budget reviews, issues and actions pertaining to the validity, governance and compliance of the investigations function.

Duties

• Assessing and planning cases, conducting interviews, preparing statements and affidavits, collecting, securing and managing evidential material and confidential information, preparing cases and briefs of evidence for referral to relevant parties such as the Australian Federal Police and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions
• Providing evidence in criminal and/or civil court as a representative of the department
• Analysing and processing information to produce accurate and informative reports, undertaking administration, reporting and project work as required 
• Conducting formal and informal discussions with departmental staff and partners, partner agencies, clients, providers and third parties
• Reviewing and reporting on investigations based on program and payment integrity with monitoring of actions to address identified challenges

Requirements/Skills

• CERTIFICATE IV in GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATIONS ESSENTIAL
• Ability to obtain Baseline Security clearance/Australian citizen
