About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an APS6 Senior Clinical Information Services Officer. This position is located in their busy Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane offices for an initial 12-month contract.
  
About the Position
The role requires a strong clinical background, attention to detail and high-level writing skills and will take carriage of monitoring, writing and analysing of Clinical Incident Reviews, including meeting timeframes for completion. The role also provides support to the Clinical Information Management section more broadly in the areas of information releases, continuous quality improvement, data management and other relevant priorities to support the national operations of the department.   

Duties

  • Preparing well written and considered Clinical Incident Reviews, reports, and responses to clinical incident notifications and sensitive matters in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures 
  • Analyse relevant information and identify factors that contribute to the client’s suicidal distress reflecting the principles of a no blame culture
  • Required to undertake work that is complex in nature, work under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability
  • Strong demonstrated experience in managing risk in mental health settings, including the ability to identify risks associated with clinical information with identified sensitivities


Mandatory Requirements/Skills
 

  • Qualifications as an AHPRA registered Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist / Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, OR 
  • Qualification as a Social Worker eligible for membership of the Australian Association Social Workers (AASW) and eligible to apply for Mental Health accreditation, OR 
  • Counsellor or Nurse with minimum three years mental health experience, OR 
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in mental health settings
