Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage EL1 Project Managers. These positions are available in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, or Melbourne for an initial 12 month contract.
  
About the Position
This role is in a Federal Government Agency whose corporate goals include being a world leader in government service delivery supporting all Australians. Project managers will plan, manage, and oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of projects to ensure objectives, quality standards, and timeframes are met. Additionally, you will lead the design, planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of project outputs while working under the direction of senior staff and engaging key stakeholders. A key part of your role is to provide leadership by fostering collaboration, innovation, and effective workplace practices, managing competing priorities, and offering strategic advice to optimise project outcomes.

Duties

  • Manage and deliver organisation‑wide projects by developing and implementing plans, schedules, budgets, governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks to ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget, and fit for purpose.
  • Provide leadership and capability development by leading staff performance, health and wellbeing, coaching and mentoring teams, coordinating strategic planning initiatives, and driving innovation, change, and continuous business improvement.
  • Engage and advise stakeholders by building strong internal and external relationships, providing expert advice and reporting to executives, preparing high‑quality documentation, and representing the agency in cross‑agency and external forums.


Requirements/Skills

  •  Demonstrated knowledge of relevant frameworks, legislation, policies and procedures, along with agency privacy, ethics, WHS and security requirements, and the effective use of applicable business systems and tools.
  • Experience using project management tools 
  • Experience in delivery of changes to ICT applications and their integration with other technology elements

  • Project management: Level  5
  • Organisational change management: Level 5
  • Stakeholder relationship management: Level 5
