Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a People & Culture Business Partner. This position is located in their busy Parramatta, NSW office for an initial contract until the 30/06/2026.
About the Position
Seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to step into a high volume, complex case management environment for a short term engagement. This role is delivery focused and hands-on, providing end to end management of sensitive and high risk people matters. It is suited to a strong candidate who is comfortable working with complexity, exercising sound judgement, and operating with a high degree of autonomy. The focus is firmly on operational case management and advisory support.
Duties
- Health, wellbeing and fitness for work matters, with a strong focus on non-work related injuries
- Workplace grievances and complaints
- Conduct and underperformance matters
- Provide timely, practical and risk balanced advice grounded in legislation, policy and procedural fairness
- Prepare and maintain clear, accurate and defensible documentation, correspondence and case records, utilising required documentation systems.
- Liaise with managers, P&C specialist teams and broader stakeholders to progress matters effectively
- Apply sound judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues in a high-risk environment
- Prioritise and progress multiple matters concurrently while meeting tight timeframes
Requirements/Skills
- Demonstrated experience managing complex and sensitive casework independently in a high volume environment.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant employment legislation, industrial instruments, and public sector policy frameworks.
- Proven ability to apply procedural fairness and manage risk in contentious matters.
- Confidence engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience in a government or highly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience in IR/ER or WC Case management is strongly preferred.
- Able to step in quickly, work with minimal supervision, and deliver from day one.
