Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Development Manager. This position is located in their busy Canberra ACT office for an initial contract until 30/5/2027.
About the Position
The Development Manager is responsible for managing complex urban development projects across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery and closure. The role focuses on achieving project, commercial and governance outcomes while meeting legislative and safety requirements.
Duties
- Manage development projects to meet land release, settlement, revenue and cost targets
- Oversee the full project lifecycle including design, approvals, procurement, construction and closure
- Prepare high quality reports and briefings translating complex technical information
- Lead procurement, contract management and approval processes in line with governance requirements
- Identify, analyse and manage project risks including safety, environmental and legislative compliance
- Build and manage relationships with government agencies, industry partners and community stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including staff, consultants and contractors
- Support commercial outcomes through collaboration with sales, marketing and legal teams
Requirements/Skills
- Relevant professional qualification or accreditation recognised within Australia, or significant planning or infrastructure project management experience
- Experience managing project timelines, budgets and consultant or contractor performance
- Ability to manage procurement, contracts and risk within regulatory frameworks
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or ability to obtain
- Asbestos Awareness Card or ability to obtain
- Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Card or ability to obtain
