Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Local Council to engage a Fleet Asset Officer. This position is located in Marsden QLD for a 3/08/2026 – 14/05/2027 contract.
About the Position
The Fleet Asset Officer is responsible for managing fleet procurement, disposal processes, and supporting the delivery of fleet replacement programs. The role ensures efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement outcomes.
Duties
- Manage fleet procurement projects including asset acquisition, handover and disposal
- Prepare specifications, designs and ensure engineering compliance is met
- Develop tenders, evaluate submissions and coordinate supplier demonstrations
- Source quotations and negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers
- Maintain procurement records including contracts, invoices and delivery receipts
- Create and maintain fleet asset data within management systems
- Conduct risk assessments and manage corrective action processes
- Complete annual fleet stocktakes and support reconciliation activities
- Prepare financial and asset reports including depreciation and budget inputs
- Liaise with stakeholders and coordinate fleet inductions and handovers
- Monitor market trends and provide recommendations on procurement strategies
- Support development of fleet procedures, policies and replacement programs
Requirements/Skills
- Experience managing fleet replacement programs across diverse asset bases
- Strong project management experience delivering procurement projects
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and corrective actions
- Knowledge of procurement and disposal practices and strategies
- Knowledge of plant and vehicle regulations including ADR and transport laws
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience preparing reports and maintaining accurate administrative records
- Proficiency in systems and intermediate Excel skills
- Current C Class driver’s licence minimum, HR licence or ability to obtain
- White Card or willingness to obtain
- Current Police Check or ability to obtain
