About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Local Government Agency to engage a Property Officer. This position is located in their busy Tewantin office for an initial contract until 20 Nov 2026.
About the Position
The Property Officer delivers property management services with a focus on community land permits, land use matters, stakeholder engagement, policy development, reporting and budget management. The role also provides specialist advice relating to leasing, permits and land management activities.
Duties
- Act as the primary contact for enquiries and maintain information in systems.
- Process and assess permit applications and issue permits in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Respond to customer requests, enquiries and complaints.
- Investigate permit compliance for activities.
- Provide advice on community land permit matters and tourism events.
- Research, prepare and present reports and policies to stakeholders.
- Prepare, manage and report on the permits budget.
- Provide supervision and training to Property Officers as required.
Requirements/Skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant Local Government legislation, regulations and processes relating to property and land management.
- Demonstrated project management experience managing multiple property-related projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and presentation delivery.
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Business, Contract Management, Sustainable Planning, Project Management or a related discipline at Associate Diploma level or higher.
- Demonstrated experience working within Local Government or related industries.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated experience using Technology One property and rating systems.
