Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a leading organisation seeking an experienced HSE Advisor for a contract through to 30/06/2027 based in Cobar, NSW.

About the Position
The HSE Advisor will support workplace health, safety and environmental outcomes across infrastructure construction sites. The role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements, conducting audits and investigations, and supporting training and risk management activities.

Duties

  • Assist with implementation of HSE plans across construction sites
  • Review and support hazard profiles, safety management plans and environmental plans
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing work method statements
  • Review contractor safety management systems and recommend corrective actions
  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage hazard reporting
  • Conduct workplace audits and risk assessments
  • Identify hazards and recommend effective control measures
  • Support emergency management planning and site emergency activities
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Conduct HSE inductions and support toolbox talks
  • Ensure HSE training is delivered to employees and contractors
  • Maintain HSE records and analyse injury statistics
  • Monitor compliance with HSE management systems and procedures
  • Liaise with relevant authorities regarding HSE matters

Requirements/Skills

  • Post-secondary qualifications in an HSE related field
  • Relevant qualifications and experience conducting HSE audits
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HSE role
  • Construction industry experience
  • Experience in project coordination or project management
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Thorough understanding of OHS and Workers Compensation legislation
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver toolbox talks, inductions and training programs
  • Ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience interpreting and applying OHS legislation
  • Experience facilitating organisational change
  • Experience within the gas or energy industry highly regarded
