Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government organisation seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk for a 6-month contract based in Concord NSW.
About the Position
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing accounts payable and administrative support, managing invoice processing, resolving payment issues, maintaining financial records, and supporting efficient payment outcomes.
Duties
- Process accounts payable documentation, invoices and payment requests accurately and within required timeframes
- Review non-PO expenditure and ensure compliance with financial controls and authorisation requirements
- Investigate and resolve outstanding invoices, payment holds, discrepancies and supplier account issues
- Monitor invoice exceptions and customer enquiries and escalate unresolved matters when required
- Review vendor-related requests and information for accuracy and compliance
- Provide customer service and advice on accounts payable matters to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Provide guidance and training on accounts payable processes, systems and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across accounts payable operations
- Undertake other duties consistent with the role as required
Requirements/Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Finance and Accounts Payable principles, processes and practices
- Experience working in a large and complex organisation
- Intermediate ERP system skills, including Oracle or equivalent systems
- Ability to interpret financial information and support accounts payable operations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high-volume workloads and competing priorities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and resolve issues professionally
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and contribute within a team
- Recent Police Check within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to provide two professional reference checks
