  • Lead the technology services behind a national energy infrastructure business.

Karlka Recruiting Group is recruiting a Technology Services Manager for a permanent leadership opportunity with a major Australian organisation undergoing a significant infrastructure simplification and cloud modernisation program.

This is an opportunity to lead experienced technical teams while shaping the future of a complex hybrid technology environment. The role combines strategic influence, operational accountability and people leadership across a broad technology services portfolio.

The Opportunity

You’ll lead the teams responsible for Infrastructure, Cloud Services, Networks and End User Computing, while also overseeing integration platforms and key technology partners.

The immediate focus is a substantial infrastructure and cloud transformation agenda spanning AWS, Azure and a significant on-premises environment. You’ll help shape migration priorities, platform lifecycle decisions and long-term service strategy while maintaining secure, reliable and resilient services.

In addition to infrastructure and cloud services, you’ll provide leadership across networking and end-user technology functions that support geographically distributed operations and a large employee base.

Working closely with Architecture, Cyber Security and Service Management teams, you’ll play a key role in balancing technology transformation with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead infrastructure and cloud modernisation initiatives across AWS, Azure and on-premises platforms.
  • Oversee network services that support business-critical operations.
  • Manage service reliability, disaster recovery, operational resilience and major technical escalations.
  • Develop and support experienced technical leaders across multiple service domains.
  • Manage technology vendors, budgets and service delivery outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation and platform lifecycle management.

About You

You’ll bring significant experience leading infrastructure and cloud services within a large or complex environment and possess the technical credibility to engage confidently with engineers, architects and senior business stakeholders.

We’re particularly interested in professionals who can demonstrate:

  • Experience leading large hybrid infrastructure environments spanning cloud and on-premises services.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure, including migration, modernisation and operational support.
  • Leadership of managers or technical team leads through organisational and technology change.
  • Accountability for operational services, disaster recovery, major incidents, vendors and budgets.
  • The ability to translate technical complexity into practical business advice relating to risk, investment, cost and service performance.

Experience within highly regulated, asset-intensive or operationally critical environments will be highly regarded.

Exposure to technology separation during divestments, or integration following mergers and acquisitions, would also be advantageous.

Leadership Style

You’ll be a confident and credible technology leader who can influence outcomes, provide expert advice and make decisions within your remit.

Just as importantly, you’ll recognise when organisational priorities require alignment and direction from senior leadership. The successful candidate will be comfortable contributing to debate, challenging ideas respectfully and then committing to agreed decisions and leading their teams through execution. You’ll foster accountability, develop capability and maintain a strong customer focus across the technology services function.

Why Consider This Role?

  • $240,000 base salary plus superannuation
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Hybrid working arrangements
  • Choice of Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney
  • Structured leadership development and career growth opportunities
  • Significant influence over a large-scale infrastructure and cloud transformation agenda
  • Opportunity to lead established technical teams within a collaborative leadership environment
  • A supportive leadership and team environment where people work hard, back each other and build strong professional relationships
