About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Utilities Company to engage a Database Administrator. This position is located in their busy Fortitude Valley office for an initial contract until 27 July 2025.
  
About the Position

The Database Administrator works within a team of DBAs to ensure the health of the departments hosted Oracle and SQL database environments.  Your focus will be on driving a culture of excellent customer service and providing advisory services, along with managing the stability and performance of database environments.

Driving a culture of continual improvement, your focus will be on such areas of automation, reporting, tool deployment and well as delivery and implementation of optimise database services.

Some of the duties are

• Monitoring service component capacity and initiates action to resolve shortfalls
• Implements and contributes to the development of continuity management plans
• Conduct research using primary data sources and manage basic aspects of the data management system
• Oversee data collection mechanisms and partnering with internal and external stakeholders
• Install and test complex databases and associated products
• Provide technical expertise to enable the configuration of software, other system components and equipment for system testing

Requirements/Skills

• Relevant tertiary and/or post-graduate qualifications
• Technical database certification: Azure DBA, OCP, MCSA
• Over 3 years substantial work experience together with job-related experience
• Practical database administration in large organisations and across heterogenous platforms as Azure, Windows Server, Linux, VMWare and Veeam 
• Experience in platform operations monitoring using SolarWinds and platform automation scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, Puppet, etc)
