About the company

Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with Logan City Council to engage a Customer Service Representative. This position is located in their busy Customer Service and Information Management office for an initial contract until 19/09/2025.

About the Position
The Customer Service Representative will deliver best‑value front‑end customer services in person, by telephone and via electronic media through Council’s customer service centres (contact centre and service counters) and corporate reception counter.

Duties

  • Provide high‑standard, accurate and efficient customer liaison in person, by phone, written correspondence 
  • Identify and assess service requests using the Customer Service knowledge databases.
  • Research information for customers efficiently, escalate complex requests to Team Leaders, and process customer payments in line with Council procedures.
  • Assist with social media and Council app enquiries; support operations across multiple Council departments to agreed service levels.
  • Provide feedback and suggest process improvements for knowledge bases and procedures; participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements/Skills

  • Certificate III or IV in Customer Contact (or equivalent) highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a high‑volume contact centre.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to diffuse escalated situations.
  • Strong research skills and rapid aptitude for new software; proficiency in databases and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure, make reliable decisions within scope, and collaborate effectively in a team.
