About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Financial Risk Manager. This position is located in their busy Parramatta office for an initial contract until 26 October 2026.
  
About the Position
The Financial Risk Manager supports the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management practices across the department’s program, a major statewide initiative to expand social and affordable housing. Positioned within the Portfolio Management Office, this role plays a key role in embedding effective and consistent risk management across a diverse portfolio of construction projects delivered through various delivery models.

Duties

  • Support the consistent application of risk management practices, tools, and processes across the Program and project teams
  • Provide advice and support to project teams in identifying, analysing, and responding to strategic and operational delivery risks
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate risk workshops and reviews across the Program and ensure risk-informed delivery decisions
  • Prepare high-quality risk reports and dashboards for senior leadership, governance forums
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of key controls, identifying gaps and supporting the development of improvement

Requirements/Skills

  • Proven background in infrastructure and or construction risk governance will be highly regarded
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in risk management  
  • Ability to work within the team and deliver strong outcomes
