Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Local Government Agency to engage a Principal Spatial Administrator. This position is located in their busy Queensland office for an initial 6-month contract.
About the Position
This role is responsible for the complex day-to-day management and oversight of the organisation’s Geographic Information System (GIS). As a member of the Enterprise Applications team, the Principal Spatial Administrator will lead the administration, optimisation, and strategic development of GIS platforms and spatial data systems.
Duties
- Manage and optimise enterprise GIS and spatial data systems.
- Configure and maintain GIS platforms, web portals, mobile apps, and cloud-based systems.
- Monitor system performance, backups, and security.
- Ensure data integrity and implement spatial data quality standards.
- Provide expert technical advice and support for GIS-related matters.
- Conduct advanced spatial analyses and produce visualisations and reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve GIS services and identify future needs.
- Stay current with emerging geospatial technologies and industry trends.
Requirements/Skills
- Strong experience in GIS management, databases, and web delivery systems.
- Expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, Online) and FME.
- Proficiency in GIS-related programming/scripting (Arcade, Python, SQL).
- Advanced spatial analysis and data visualisation skills.
- Excellent time management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Degree in GIS, computer science, information management, or relevant experience.
